EFMARC participated this year in the Winter Field Day event. It was a great time and great success. We arrived starting at 9am on Saturday Jan. 25, 2025, and began setting up. Ken brought a great tow behind antenna tower that he built. With that we were able to deploy a 2-band dipole 40 feet high in 10 minutes flat. A great start!
Inside, we setup a row of tables and spots for 3 fully functional stations. Hudson River Community Credit Union donated 4 laptops to the club which we setup in a network to share contact information. Members brought 3 go-stations equipped with IC-7300’s.
We registered as a 2 transmitter group class “2I”, and took turns operating 2 of the 3 stations. We had Ken’s portable tower with 80m and 40m dipoles, and Pete brought a Chameleon multi-band end fed. During Saturday we worked 80m, 40m, 20m, and 10m.
Our rookie of the year award went to Joy (KE2ATU). Congrats Joy!
I will post more pictures as I get them.
